As for the art, I did some experimenting. I tried the Live Trace tool in Illustrator, which turns anything into vectors. (The only problem is that complex images usually turn out bad) The pencil sketches looked pretty good, but the problem was I had to separate the background from all the individual pencil strokes. More trouble than it's worth. I ended up putting it in Photoshop where I discovered you can paint over line art (without an under layer) by setting the color layer to multiply. That'll come in handy for Q&A's and other extra pages that I don't want to ink.
